Smitten for a Stranger
When you fall for a stranger, do you also accept their past?
Lucy Allen has always wanted to escape her life.
Living with an alcoholic father who blames her for their situation, simply so that he wouldn’t have to take responsibility.
However,
now that she is of age, she decides that taking care of her ungrateful,
abusive father is not the path she wants to lead and thus, she seeks a
new life out west. What she finds is far more than she could have ever
imagined was possible.
Harper Barron has always been a man of
his word and a gentleman, but growing up in a small, provincial western
town has its definite drawbacks. First and foremost, wealth and honesty
cannot create available suitors. So, after living alone for a year after
his parents pass away, Harper looks to the Mail-Order-Bride system. A
cynic at heart, he is fairly certain the depth of his failure through
this crazy idea is unimaginable, but what he finds is a woman that he
quickly falls in love with.
Unfortunately, the Lucy Allen that
Harper Barron grows to love is not exactly the woman who comes out west
to meet him. Yet, Lucy’s secret remains her own for a time, begging the
question, of what Harper will do when Lucy’s deception is revealed?
Is
the love they have nurtured enough for the couple to endure or will the
reemergence of Lucy’s old life shatter any chance she has to start
anew?
