Curvy Girl's Revenge

Curvy Girl's Revenge

Six degrees of separation is the idea that all people on average, are six or fewer social connections away from each other. A friend of a friend, an uncle or an aunt, my cousin Vinnie, or a coworker may connect any two people in the world in a maximum of six steps.
The ending of each Six Degree Connections Series story leads from a person affected by the current story into the next story. We are all connected. Find out how.

It’s a tearful goodbye at the airport, but my Visa is about to expire, and I have to return to my hometown, Chicago, Illinois, in the good ole USA. All of them have come out to see me off - Anthony, Marco, Violetta, and even Aida. And of course, Gianna. We’ve become close over the last couple of months, and she confessed to me that she and Anthony are seeing one another. Not that it wasn’t obvious, her hanging around the office all the time, even after her case was settled. The payout from her settlement was incredible, and we all made out well. Marino and Rossi Partners at Law offices will be moving to a larger building next month, and they’ve contracted two more lawyers and three interns. They even gave me a bonus, which will be put to good use since I don’t have a job yet in America. And Gianna, she’s registered to start her Graduate degree in the fall. I am so happy for all of them.

Tracey Carlton is plump. Not just plump, she is obese. Her thick glasses and matronly clothes make her look at least 15 years older than the 24 years that she is. But she is the best legal intern Anthony and Marco have ever seen. She has come to Italy from America to finish her internship and learn how to speak Italian. She is dedicated, smart, creative, great at research and surprisingly funny, but her weight really holds her back. She is learning a lot more than law during her time in Italy but will soon need to return to Chicago to start her law career and carry on with her dull humdrum life.

Returning to Chicago with renewed confidence and a brand-new Italian wardrobe, the newly barred lawyer believes that at her high school reunion she will command some respect. After the bullies from her past put her in her place, Tracey runs from what was supposed to be her celebration, sobbing. Distraught, angry and frustrated, she is driving far too fast down the highway towards her parents’ home. She turns to answer an incoming text when she is side swiped by a semi careening down the highway in the wrong lane.
After waking from her coma, Tracey is determined to take control of her life and make those bullies pay. But she is not sure how. Perhaps the universe will present a path.
